The Regulation Committee will hear from about Arkansas’ research and work with air ambulances and opportunities for negotiated fee reductions. The Committee will also discuss medical cannabis; presumptions, beyond COVID-19; and compliance.

The EDI Medical and ProPay Committee will discuss any changes and or needs that may impact the standard. The Medical Training Team will provide an update regarding the development of curriculum for the Medical Digital Credential. The committee will also begin a full review of the eBilling Companion Guide to identify changes and updates that are needed.

The Research and Standards Committee will hear a presentation from John Ruser, President and CEO of WCRI, about WCRI’s report on telemedicine and the impact of COVID-19, including the expansion of telemedicine during the pandemic, interstate variation, and pricing. Raji Chadarevian, Director, Medical Regulation & Informatics, and Susan Schulte, External and Government Affairs, NCCI, will share a presentation about medical expenditures over time, discussing dollar spend and how spend compares to inflation indices.
The Committee will also discuss jurisdictional methods of tracking long-COVID cases and the effects of remote work on claim numbers. Updates on the Committee’s two projects, the Claims Measures Survey and COVID-19 Data Call, will be shared.
The EDI Proof of Coverage Committee will discuss any changes and or needs that may impact standard. The EDI Systems Committee will present a technical proposal to support the new POC data element for Claim Administrator FEIN. The XML QA Team will provide an update on the POC pilot. Finally, the WCIO will provide a WCPOLS update.
The Medical Issues Committee will host a panel discussion and presentation on long-COVID and the impact on workers’ compensation. The Committee will also engage in roundtable discussion and hear updates from members.
